Queen Charlotte Wilderness Park is situated on an isolated peninsula in the Outer Queen Charlotte Sound of the Marlborough Sounds.  Originally a large sheep station the property is now a 650ha recreation reserve. As well as providing environmental services such as carbon sequestration and native forest restoration and protection, it also provides accommodation and a multitude of activities for nature-loving visitors; Numerous walking opportunities such as Ship Cove to Anakakata Bay, Anakakata Bay to the Cape Jackson lighthouse, visiting old goldmine workings, kayaking, snorkelling or just lying back and relaxing at the comfortable lodge.
