The Department of Conservation has announced this week, that there will be a new shelter built at Camp Bay. Building work is due to start in May by NMIT Building students and it will hopefully be complete in time for Spring on the Track.
March 2012 Track fully open to MTB
As of 1 March, the entire track is now open to Mountain Bikers, so you can enjoy a challenging 71km ride from Ship Cove all the way through to Anakiwa. But there's no rush, you can ride the whole track anytime, between now and end of November.
Dec 2011 Summer is here...
Summer is here and the Department of Conservation staff have been working hard getting the track in ‘tip top order’ ready for our summer visitors.
A new toilet has been installed on the Te Mahia Saddle, a joint venture between DoC and QCTLC which we are sure will be much appreciated by track walkers/bikers.
Look out for the Queen Charlotte Track Inc Visitor Experience Survey on water taxis & at the Green Caravan Café in Anakiwa - this is your chance to give us some feedback on the Track. All comments are very much appreciated.
